From davnagle at juno.com Mon Oct 16 07:16:43 2017 From: davnagle at juno.com (davnagle at juno.com) Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2017 14:16:43 GMT Subject: [FT] Oklahoma All-Friends Gathering 10-21, Hominy Message-ID: <20171016.091643.4208.1@webmail11.vgs.untd.com> YOU are invited! Yes, please consider attending this year's gathering at the Friends Meetinghouse, Indian Village, Hominy, OK. Here is an overview: John and Gail Fletcher, of Norman Friends Meeting (OK), will lead participants through an interactive program at the Friends Meetinghouse, this Saturday, 10/21, from 10am -3pm. The public is invited to join Quakers from around the state in this year?s iteration of the Oklahoma All-Friends Gathering. These events are intended to promote fellowship among Friends of all backgrounds, but those of other faiths (or no religious background) are also cordially invited. This year?s event will focus on the history of Quaker interactions with political powers and the birth, growth, and current activities of the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). FCNL was the first full-time religious lobby on Capitol Hill and seeks to be a non-partisan witness to the fundamental values of followers of Christ as we pursue peace and a more just, compassionate, and equitable society. Many Congressional offices respect and rely upon Friends for factual information that isn?t twisted, slanted, or perverted for greed or political gain. Donuts and refreshments will be available from 9:30 ? 10:00 am. The program will begin at 10:00 am with a period of worship and singing, followed by the Fletchers? interactive presentation. Homer Holding will be grilling hamburgers as part of a free meal provided for participants by Hominy Friends at noon. The program will resume at 1:00 pm with a specific focus on FCNL and following worship and sharing will conclude at 3pm. Everyone is welcome to attend this educational, worship and fellowship event! John Fletcher is a retired biology professor from OU. He and Gail reside just north of Norman where they have a small Christmas tree farm. They have been intimately involved in the work of FCNL, serving as representatives from South Central Yearly Meeting. No strangers to Hominy, the Fletchers have attended sessions of Great Plains Yearly Meeting hosted by Hominy Friends, have enjoyed Hominy Friends Wild Onion Dinners, and several years ago led the intergenerational planting of the oak tree in the SW corner of the Meetinghouse lawn. ____________________________________________________________ How To Remove Eye Bags & Lip Lines Fast (Watch) Fit Mom Daily http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/59e4bf8c701893f8c35d2st03vuc
